It is hardly known that such an outstanding person as the founder of the theosophical society and the author of a well-known “Secret Doctrine”, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, was born in Ukraine – in the town of Ekaterinoslav, nowadays the town of Dnepropetrovsk. It took place at night of August 12, 1831, in the Fadeyev family’s house - her grandmother and grandfather’s place.

As is known, the picture of the world which is formed under the influence of various areas of science and culture of society, is one of fundamental achievements of the civilisation, its integrated expression. Formation of this picture of the world of modern western civilisation occurs basically under the influence of the science. 

The key to understand, contemplate and find a purport, and for application of theosophical ideas, is reconsideration of methodological principles of knowledge that imply overcoming of absolutistic ratio-empirical approach to uptake the world. 

Бесценной реликвией создающегося в Днепропетровске Музейного центра Е.П.Блаватской и ее семьи является парный портрет, на котором изображены писательница Елена Андреевна Ган и ее старшая дочь Елена (Елена Петровна Блаватская).
