Kharkiv is the city from which Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. Today, Kharkiv is a hero city thanks to its people.
Today is the third year of our resistance, our indomitability, the heroic struggle of every Ukrainian for the right to live in a free state, this is a struggle for the future of future generations. In this difficult and difficult time for every Ukrainian, we persevered, we did not give up, the enemy rallied us and we continue to fight each on our own "front". The city received a huge number of refugees from the front-line zone, who are accommodated in hostels, schools, kindergartens wherever possible. But the city itself is close to the front, it is bombarded with rockets every day and at night too. City hospital of fast and emergency medical care named after Prof. O.I. Meshchaninov, like other medical institutions of Kharkiv, has not stopped its work since the beginning of the war under martial law. The seriously wounded from the city and the region are brought there.
Olena Tverdokhlib, another of our Kharkiv TOS volunteers, first carried out her campaign to help the wounded. This is what she said: "I visited our seriously wounded this Saturday. My day started with buying the necessary products to make homemade meatballs. Early in the morning I went to the market for meat. I also bought home-grown cucumbers there. On the way home, I stopped by the bakery for delicious hot bread, poppy seed pie, and cherry pies for dessert. She prepared 21 portions, laid out everything and immediately went to the hospital. My daughter helped. Our wounded were very happy with homemade food and attention to them. Such gratitude was on their faces! It is very important to give them our love and support, which they need so much at this special time."
