NEW YEAR'S GIFTS FOR THE RESIDENTS OF MYKOLAIV REGION

On January 3-4, our volunteer Oleksandr Dovgopol, together with the volunteer organization "Search Platform 911", made a trip to the de-occupied territory of southern Ukraine.

Humanitarian aid was brought to Pervomaiske, Mykolaiv region. The village was in the front-line zone from the moment of the invasion until the de-occupation of the Mykolaiv region in October-November 2022, but the shelling stopped only after the de-occupation of Kherson and the withdrawal of the occupying forces to the left bank of the Dnieper. People began to return to their homes at the beginning of December.

Before the war, 5,000 people lived here, now only 380. On the map of hostilities, the village is listed in the zone of occupation, but according to locals, Russian troops were only there for 2 days, the rest of the time the village was under constant fire, including from enemy aircraft. As a result of shelling, 27 civilians died and almost all buildings and a sugar factory were damaged. Currently, there is no gas supply and almost no electricity supply, there is no regular transport connection and provision of basic necessities.

More than 100 food packages were distributed, holiday gift packages for children, sweets, clothes, shoes were given, medicine for the residents was handed over to the local doctor.

Volunteers went in two cars. All humanitarian cargo traveled on a minibus, which was transferred from Latvia for the needs of the military. This minibus was left in Mykolaiv for the needs of the city's Military Administration. Our volunteers were already returning in one car.
